The two from Seattle, USA, had decided to celebrate their big day in Germany – right on the picturesque Moselle at the fairy-tale Schloss Lieser. From the outset, this wedding on the Moselle was planned as a special destination wedding: romantic, international and with a magical atmosphere.

An unforgettable evening
As most of the guests had travelled from the USA, it quickly became clear that this wedding would be an event lasting several days – and for good reason. Because of the long journey and the fact that many guests were in Germany for the first time, Kyla and Connor wanted to offer their guests a very special experience. This is exactly where it became clear how important well thought-out wedding and event planning is, so that all guests feel welcome from the very beginning.
On the evening before the wedding, we organised a relaxed get-together – on the beautiful Moselle. We chartered a sightseeing boat exclusively for all the guests, which offered a unique opportunity to experience the region and Schloss Lieser from a completely new perspective. This event concept created an emotional start to the wedding weekend and combined arriving, indulgence and special memories in a stylish way.
On board, traditional German specialities such as Flammkuchen were served. As the boat slowly cruised along the Moselle, the guests could admire the imposing Schloss Lieser both in daylight and in its magical night-time illumination – a sight that amazed everyone. It was the perfect start to an unforgettable wedding week and a romantic castle wedding with an international character.
Colour scheme
Tailored to our couple
As planners and designers at rockwedding, it is particularly important to us to make every wedding as unique as the couple. This is not only about obvious elements such as the venue or the wedding dress, but also about the subtleties that make up the overall picture – from the choice of colours and seating to the stationery, florals and decoration. A design full of loving details, a cohesive event concept and a well thought-out decoration concept ensure that the couple’s personality is reflected in every moment.
In our conversations with Kyla & Connor, it quickly became clear that they were open to an expressive colour scheme. Connor’s favourite colour, a vibrant orange, was the starting point. Together we decided to put orange and desert sage at the centre. This harmonious mix of warm, earthy tones and a touch of glamour not only created a beautiful colour dynamic but also reflected the couple’s personality.
The result was a unique, tailor-made colour concept that perfectly underlined the wedding decor. Combined with the florals, the stationery and the overall design, a harmonious decoration concept emerged that stylishly complemented the romantic atmosphere of Schloss Lieser and gave the wedding on the Moselle a very personal signature.
Ceremony seating
Kyla & Connor’s ceremony took place on the helipad in front of Schloss Lieser. To integrate the round space perfectly into our design, we chose semicircular seating, which created an intimate atmosphere and offered a view of the couple and the castle. The result was a special ceremony setting that made perfect use of the venue and opened the romantic castle wedding impressively.
For the bride’s entrance we chose a special route: Kyla came up through the underground car park directly beneath the helipad, which made the moment unique. Ideas full of loving detail like this make wedding planning individual and ensure that a ceremony not only looks beautiful but is remembered emotionally.
Cocktail Hour
Live band, sweet table & more
After the ceremony, everyone went straight into the cocktail hour on the terrace of Schloss Lieser. Overlooking the picturesque Moselle and accompanied by a live band perfectly staged by Bernarts Music, the guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and musical accompaniment. To make the experience even more unique, we used the exclusive hire of Schloss Lieser to change locations several times – from the ceremony and the cocktail hour to dinner and later the party. This alternation between indoor and outdoor spaces created one wow moment after another.
Another highlight of the cocktail hour was the sweet table, which tempted the guests: different sweets represented the countries the couple had already travelled to. Each sweet stood symbolically for a country and thus told Kyla & Connor’s travel story. This special detail fitted perfectly into the event concept and made the destination wedding in Germany even more personal.
Dinner in the courtyard
A romantic atmosphere under the open sky
Dinner took place in the picturesque courtyard of Schloss Lieser, and the romantic atmosphere could not have been more perfect. Candles and string lights lit up the evening and, together with the orange and desert sage accents, created an enchanting mood. The couple sat at the bridal table, while the round tables were cleverly grouped around the fountain – a beautiful scene later perfectly captured in a breathtaking drone shot. An unforgettable moment for the couple and their guests.

The interplay of event planning, design, florals, decoration and a personal event concept resulted in a wedding that told the couple’s story in a special way.
