AN EXTRAORDINARY WEDDING VENUE RIGHT ON LAKE CONSTANCE
For their wedding, Nathalie & Simon chose a special venue: the Steigenberger Inselhotel in Konstanz.
The former Dominican monastery sits on a small private island right on Lake Constance. The banqueting hall in particular, with its impressive ceiling height and arcades, creates an extraordinary atmosphere.
CEREMONY IN THE GARDEN
A SYMBOLIC CEREMONY UNDER THE OPEN SKY IN THE GARDEN OF THE INSELHOTEL
We were on site at Lake Constance early and started straight away with setting up the ceremony.
The symbolic ceremony took place in the beautiful garden of the Steigenberger hotel. For it, 110 wooden folding chairs were set up, flower trellises placed and lanterns distributed outside.
The white wooden chairs were decorated with purple and gold ribbons that fluttered beautifully in the wind during the ceremony.
GATSBY DESIGN
THE GOLDEN TWENTIES, PURPLE DETAILS AND A HINT OF FUCHSIA
The couple’s wedding design was inspired by the Roaring Twenties.
To match, we created a colour concept of purple and gold, complemented by accents of fuchsia, blue and ivory – an extraordinary yet cohesive combination.
DINNER IN THE BANQUETING HALL
GOLDEN ORGANZA, LARGE FLOWER BALLS AND DARK PURPLE NAPKINS
In the hall, we tied the chair bows with delicate golden organza.
The large flower balls on tall vases were the highlight of every table. The overall look was completed by dark purple napkins on which the menu cards were draped.
Golden lanterns and fine floral fillings on the tables rounded off the ensemble.

SHIMMERING IVORY, GATSBY LETTERING AND SUCCULENTS AS FAVOURS
The couple’s stationery also picked up the Gatsby concept: delicate ivory with a fine shimmer and gold lettering.
The wedding favours doubled as name cards. Every guest received a succulent in a little gold pot – a small detail with a big impact.

A themed wedding like this Gatsby wedding lives on a clear common thread. Decide early on two or three main colours – here purple and gold – and add just a few accent colours. That way the design never looks busy, even with lots of details, and stationery, florals and table decor all work together.
