Wedding in Portugal

A May wedding with sea views at the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort

What a wedding! We had the pleasure of travelling to Portugal for our couple to plan and accompany their wedding at the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort.

From the civil ceremony to the evening celebration, the result was a wedding day with Mediterranean lightness, dreamy views and very special moments.

Planning

FROM THE VENUE SEARCH TO DETAILED PLANNING ON SITE

In advance, the right venue was found and booked. This was followed by the detailed planning: the wedding cake, DJ, registrar, interpreter and many other service providers were coordinated and organised. The schedule for the day was also planned in detail: when does the ceremony take place on the Belvedere Cliff Top? When is the photo shoot? When is dinner served? And does the wedding cake come before or after the first dance?

Decoration concept

A COHESIVE OVERALL CONCEPT BETWEEN OUR WEDDING LOFT AND THE ALGARVE

We met our couple at our wedding loft to discuss the decoration concept.

Which tablecloth will be used? How will the table be laid out? Which flower arrangements suit the location, and which napkin colour completes the look?

We worked all these details into a cohesive concept, which we communicated to and organised with the venue in Portugal.

Wedding day

DECORATION, COORDINATION AND LITTLE MOMENTS BEHIND THE SCENES

On the big day we were on site, decorated the venue, delivered the personal florals to the bride’s room, calmed the nervous groom and handed out menu and place cards.

This way the couple could focus entirely on the moment, their guests and this special day.

Sky Lounge

AN EVENING WITH A FIRST DANCE AND A VIEW OF THE SEA

Our wedding photographer was already there for the getting ready and accompanied the couple into the evening.

After dinner, the first dance and many emotional moments, the day ended in the breathtaking Sky Lounge – with an unbeatable view of the sea.

Our tips for your wedding in the Algarve

A wedding in Portugal with a sea view is a dream – and needs particularly good preparation, because so much is organised from afar. For this May wedding we arranged the venue, registrar, interpreter, DJ and cake in advance and developed the decor concept together with the couple in our wedding loft.

A detailed schedule is worth its weight in gold at destination weddings: when is the ceremony, the photo shoot, the dinner, the cake? Answering these questions in advance means a clear head on the day itself.

As for decor: tell the venue as precisely as possible which tablecloths, napkins and flowers you’d like – ideally with photos and a clear concept. That way exactly what you planned is delivered on site.

Frequently asked questions

Can you have a civil wedding in Portugal?

At this wedding the civil ceremony took place on site, supported by an interpreter. Which documents you need depends on your situation – we clarify this early on with you and the authorities.

How does planning a wedding abroad work?

We meet for a concept consultation, find the venue, coordinate all vendors on site and create the schedule. On the wedding day we are there in person.

When is the best time for a wedding in the Algarve?

May, June and September are popular: warm, but usually not as hot as high summer. We are happy to advise you on the right season.
