Wedding venue
FROM A BEACH DREAM TO A COUNTRY HOUSE WITH EXTENSIVE GROUNDS
For us that meant finding the right venue, coordinating vendors and preparing various options for the wedding celebration.
A ceremony on the beach with your feet in the warm sand was also an option. In the end, the two chose a beautiful country house with extensive grounds and plenty of possibilities for the ceremony, dinner and party.
Symbolic ceremony
A CEREMONY UNDER THE VINES AND AN APÉRO BY THE POOL
For the symbolic ceremony we found a wonderful outdoor area with vines – perfect for a Mediterranean ceremony in the greenery.
The wedding apéro then took place in the separate pool area with a sun terrace.
Plan B
SUN, WIND AND A SPONTANEOUS DECISION FOR THE EVENING
The March weather was already beautiful with sunny 26 degrees – but in the afternoon a good gust of wind came along.
No problem for us as wedding planners: the evening table was quickly taken down again and set up indoors. In the shade, it would simply have been too chilly with the wind.
Evening programme
A WEDDING DINNER IN THE COUNTRY HOUSE AND A PARTY INTO THE NIGHT
The wedding dinner finally took place in the beautiful hall of the country house.
Here everyone ate, danced and celebrated together – from the first dance to an exuberant party.
Photo shoot
PALM TREES, A FOUNTAIN AND A BREEZE IN THE LITTLE PARK
For the photo shoot with our wedding photographer Dominic, we headed to the estate’s little park.
Palm trees, a fountain, a small bridge, sunshine and a light breeze – a dreamy backdrop for special wedding photos.
Our tips for your wedding in Malta
Thanks to its mild climate, Malta is a lovely destination wedding spot outside high summer too – for this wedding in March we had sunny temperatures of 26 degrees. But always expect wind: by the sea and in the shade it can quickly turn cool, especially in the afternoon.
That’s why our most important tip is: plan an indoor alternative for every outdoor part of the day. For Monique and Jens we simply moved the dinner table indoors – because the venue allowed it and because plan B had been prepared.
When choosing a venue, it’s worth comparing several options: a beach, a country house or a hotel each offer very different possibilities for the ceremony, aperitivo, dinner and photo shoot. An estate with a garden, pool and hall covers a lot in one place and saves on transfers.
Frequently asked questions
What do we need to consider for a wedding abroad?
What matters most is a venue with a bad-weather option, reliable vendors on site and a clear schedule. Whether you have the civil ceremony abroad or at home is something we clarify with you early on.
When is the best time of year for a wedding in Malta?
Spring and autumn are pleasantly warm and less hot than high summer. Whatever the season, though, plan for wind and cooler evenings.
Do you accompany destination weddings in person?
Yes. We plan from Germany, coordinate the vendors on site and are there ourselves on the wedding day – just like at this wedding in Malta.
